Clean Water For Life

Several years ago I wrote this book on water purification methods. I'm making the book available for instant download as a PDF if anyone in the affected area of Hurricane Helene or if you just need the book as a reference (and you do!).

This book focuses on the “how to” of water purification with detailed instructions and pictures on each of the five methods:

Boiling and aeration

Chemical treatment,

The three bucket method,

The bio-sand filter

The SODIS (Solar Water Disinfection) method.

Clean Water For Life discusses the pros and cons of each method with an emphasis on methods which can be implemented without specialized training. The book also includes an extensive section on the commonly encountered germs and other pollutants with instructions on how to prevent and treat them.

We also publish two other manuals on the subject of water purification, one for the health worker and the other focusing on community involvement and education.
